Important announcements

TLS protocol

From version 5.3 onwards, the TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols, which are currently deprecated, will be disabled for security reasons.

  • From version 5.3 onwards, agents must use the TLS 1.2 protocol to communicate.
  • In certain cases, agents may be unable to communicate using the TLS 1.2 protocol.

Precautions

  • Ensure that the servers where the agents are run have upgraded to the latest Windows versions in order to minimize post-version upgrade issues.
  • We strongly recommend that you upgrade your OS if it is obsolete, e.g. Windows Server 2008.

On-premises platforms - Forecasts

The deployment of forecasts requires a dedicated machine. This machine will be pooled for future functionalities such as Advanced mode for user services planned for version 5.4.

Your EasyVista consultant will provide you with all of the required information for upgrading your platform to version 5.3.

Version 5.4 (2023.3) (08/16/2023)

Automatic creation of incidents in ServiceNow ITSM

The automatic creation of incidents is now available for integrations with ServiceNow ITSM. It is based on the execution of a rule file when there is a change in status for a configuration item (CI), i.e. host, service or user service.

The functionalities available in this version are as follows:

  • Import/Export a CSV rule file.
  • Enable the automatic creation in a ServiceNow ITSM connection.
  • Enable the automatic creation for a configuration item.
  • Create a note on the incident when a warning occurs and when the ticket is already open.

User services - Advanced mode

You can now configure the dependencies of user services in advanced mode. This functionality is used in cases of architecture redundancy, e.g. load balancing of Web servers or a RabbitMQ cluster.

  • You can specify a weight for each of the dependencies added.
  • You can use a rule to define the thresholds for changes in status based on the weight value.

 Implementation principle

  • Create or modify a user service by selecting Configuration > User services in the menu.
  • Select the Dependencies tab and click Advanced mode.

  • Specify the weight of each dependency.

The sum of the dependency weights is then used to define different thresholds beyond which the user service status will change.

For example: If the sum of the weight values for Critical status components is greater than or equal to 4, the status of the user service will change to Down.

Enhancements

Language changes during the user session

You can now change the user language directly in the interface without having to log out and log in again.

This is especially useful in project mode, when creating labels or orders.

Dataviz

Dashlink – Optional logo display

You can now hide the logo when sharing a Dataviz via a Dashlink.

This is used to optimize the display of the Dataviz on a Web portal, for example.

Creation of Dataviz templates

You can now save a Dataviz as a template. This can then be used at any level based on the visibility defined.

 Implementation principle

  • Go to the relevant Dataviz and switch to edit mode.
  • Click Save and select the Save as template option.

Enhancements

AIOps - Forecasts

Following the version upgrade, administrators are now authorized to enable forecasts for their company and/or sites and customers. This action is required in order to use the associated functionalities. It is not enabled by default.

Forecast functionalities help operations teams anticipate failure, and as a result, optimize SLAs by reducing unavailability.
There are two types of forecast horizons: short-term (15 hours) and medium-term to long-term (capacity).

15-hour forecast horizon (night-time)

This forecast horizon is applicable to operations integrated with a Dataviz.

  • The 15-hour forecast horizon enables you to avoid resorting to on-call staff during off-hours for incidents that could have been anticipated.
  • Forecasts are available in the Diagram widget (forecast mode), in the list of statuses and in the Details form of the object.
  • You can create an incident based on an expected status.

          Version 5_3 - Forecast 15 hours.png

Forecasts in the list of statuses (forecast mode)

  • Expected status, current status, time before status change, confidence
  • Creation of tickets based on the expected status
