Automatic creation of incidents in EV Service Manager

The automatic creation of incidents is now possible with the EV Service Manager ITSM system. It is based on the running of a cross-reference mapping file when there is a change in status for a configuration item (CI), i.e. host, service or user service.

The functionalities available in this version are as follows:

  • Import/Export a CSV cross-reference mapping file
  • Enable automatic creation in the EV Service Manager ITSM connection

Overlapping of maintenance operations

You can now schedule multiple maintenance operations with overlapping periods.

Example:

  • Schedule a maintenance operation on server A from 8 am to 6 pm.
  • Schedule a global maintenance operation on a data center that includes server A from 7 am to 5 pm or from 9 am to 8 pm.

  • The configuration item (CI) associated with the ticket, its type (host, service or user service) and ID
  • The site of the CI
  • The rule applied and the row where it is found

You can access the logs:

  • Directly when creating a ticket in the event of an error via a popup window

Automatic creation of incidents in ServiceNow ITSM

The automatic creation of incidents is now available for integrations with ServiceNow ITSM. It is based on the execution of a rule file when there is a change in status for a configuration item (CI), i.e. host, service or user service.

The functionalities available in this version are as follows:

  • Import/Export a CSV rule file.
  • Enable the automatic creation in a ServiceNow ITSM connection.
  • Enable the automatic creation for a configuration item.

Version 5_4 - Create incident in ServiceNow 2.png

User services - Advanced mode

You can now configure the dependencies of user services in advanced mode. This functionality is used in cases of architecture redundancy, e.g. load balancing of Web servers or a RabbitMQ cluster.

  • You can specify a weight for each of the dependencies added.
  • You can use a rule to define the thresholds for changes in status based on the weight value.

 Implementation principle

  • Create or modify a user service by selecting Configuration > User services in the menu.
  • Select the Dependencies tab and click Advanced mode.
             Version 5_4 - User service - Advanced mode.png
  • Specify the weight of each dependency.
              Version 5_4 - User service - Advanced mode - Dependency weights.png
  • The sum of the dependency weights is used to define thresholds beyond which the user service status will change.
Example: If the sum of the weight values for Critical status components is greater than or equal to 4, the status of the user service will change to Down.

Enhancements

Language changes during the user session

You can now change the user language directly in the interface without having to log out and log in again.

This is especially useful in project mode, when creating labels or orders.

          Version 5_4 - Change language.png

Dataviz

Dashlink – Optional logo display

You can now hide the logo when sharing a Dataviz via a Dashlink.

This is used to optimize the display of the Dataviz on a Web portal, for example.

          Version 5_4 - Dataviz - Share with logo.png

Creation of Dataviz templates

You can now save a Dataviz as a template. This can then be used at any level based on the visibility defined.

 Implementation principle

  • Go to the relevant Dataviz and switch to edit mode.
  • Click Save and select the Save as template option.
        Version 5_4 - Dataviz template 1.png
  • Name the Dataviz template.
        Version 5_4 - Dataviz template 2.png
  • Create a new Dataviz and select the template you just created.
        Version 5_4 - Dataviz template 3.png

New name for the Map widget

The Map widget has been renamed Diagram to enable users to distinguish it from the World Map widget.

          Version 5_4 - Widget Diagram.png

Monitoring: Search in the Details column

In Monitoring, you can now run a search on the Details column.

This enables you to include keywords returned by controls in the search criteria and fine-tune the search filter using information crucial to the diagnosis.

Enhancements

AIOps - Forecasts

Following the version upgrade, administrators are now authorized to enable forecasts for their company and/or sites and customers. This action is required in order to use the associated functionalities. It is not enabled by default.

Forecast functionalities help operations teams anticipate failure, and as a result, optimize SLAs by reducing unavailability.
There are two types of forecast horizons: short-term (15 hours) and medium-term to long-term (capacity).

15-hour forecast horizon (night-time)

This forecast horizon is applicable to operations integrated with a Dataviz.

  • The 15-hour forecast horizon enables you to avoid resorting to on-call staff during off-hours for incidents that could have been anticipated.
  • Forecasts are available in the Diagram widget (forecast mode), in the list of statuses and in the Details form of the object.
  • You can create an incident based on an expected status.

          Version 5_3 - Forecast 15 hours.png

Forecasts in the list of statuses (forecast mode)

  • Expected status, current status, time before status change, confidence
  • Creation of tickets based on the expected status
     Version 5_3 - Forecast 15 hours - Status list.png

Forecasts in the Details form

  • General information: expected status, confidence, time before status change
  • Metric: Forecast display
