Menus - Versions 2016 and Earlier
Definition
Menus define the major themes of Service Manager (Operation, Transition...). They are displayed as tabs in the menu toolbar located on top of the interface.

Each menu:
- is only visible to users owning the access rights to the module to which the menu is attached (via user's profile);
- contains a group of options allowing access to the different Service Manager information via the opening of forms and lists;
- can be divided into sub-menus grouping options by functions, in order to avoid to limit the size of the menu.
Notes
- Only a profile owning the edit rights to the module to which the menu is attached may change the parameters of this menu.
- Parameter settings of the menu toolbar:
- The access rights to menus are defined by profile (and apply to all users of this profile);
- The list of available menus is delivered by EasyVista: You will not be able to create new menus by yourself.
- You will not be able to delete a menu: You may deactivate it by deactivating its access rights of the related profiles (via the Access Management only).
- You cannot change the name of the menus and their display order.
- You may change the background color of the tab and of the text associated to the menu; these one are automatically applied to the following elements of the menu: window title of wizards, separation line on the forms.
- Parameter settings of a menu:
- The access rights to menus / sub-menus are defined by profile (and apply to all the users of this profile);
- The list of available options / sub-menus is delivered by EasyVista: You will not be able to create new options / sub-menus by yourself.
- You cannot delete an option: You need to deactivate the option by disabling it in the related access profiles (via this parameter page or via the Access Management).
- To delete the complete access to a sub-menu that includes options, you need to deactivate the access to each option.
- You may change the name of the options and their display order.
- If you leave only one option enabled in a sub-menu, this one is no longer displayed but replaced by the option.
Best Practice
- To define the access rights by profile, click the Edit menu
option of the desired menu; then click
related to each option.
- When you change the color of the tabs, use the RGB or HSB code of the color palette if the application is integrated with a web site or if you must follow a precise graphical.

- Menus can not be automatically sorted alphabetically.

- The position of the sub-menus is unchanged if you change the position of a menu.

Procedures
How to set menu parameters
Note: This option is only available if you own the access rights for the module to which the menu is attached.
Step 1: Access to the customization options.
1. Click in the toolbar on the menu you want to personalize.
2. Click the Edit menu option at the bottom of the menu.

Selection of the sub-menus

- Check the sub-menus you want to display in the menu.
- Uncheck those you do not want to display.
Access restrictions to the options of the menu
- To delete the access from all profiles, click

- In the Visible list, select the profiles owning no access to the option.
- Switch them in the Invisible list by clicking on

Step 3: Save the changes.

Step 4: Test the customization of the menu.
1. Connect yourself with a user attached to the profile.
2. Check the correct application of your changes.
How to change the colors of the tab of a menu
Step 1: Select the menu to customize.
1. Select Administration > Parameters > Styles Sheets for Modules in the menu.
Step 2: Customization of the menu.
1. Click icon on the Background Color and Text Color zones related to the menu to personalize.
2. Select the desired color in the palette color.
- Either select the color by dragging the mouse cursor on the palette.
- Or enter the hexadecimal code in the # zone.
- Or enter RGB or HSB code in the dedicated zones.
3. Click Save.
Return to the original configuration
- Click Cancel
Caution: No confirmation is requested.
Step 4: Test the customization of the menu.
1. Check your color changes in the menu toolbar.
