Definition
A default value is the value automatically given to a field if it is not filled when records are manually created or automatically created via data integration.

Notes
- The value is applied in Tree fields if there is no higher-level value. If there is a higher-level value, then it is inherited.
- Fields whose values are inherited do not have a key unlike those whose values were manually specified or automatically created via data integration.

- We recommend you use this parameter for companies whose sites are all located within a given country.

Default Time Zone: Applies to locations. |
- All existing locations whose time zone is not specified will inherit the default time zone.
- Locations whose time zone is specified will not be modified.
- New manually created locations will inherit the time zone associated with a higher level if it is specified. If not, then they will inherit the default time zone.
- The time zone of locations created via data integration is managed in the same way as those created manually.

- We recommend you use this parameter for companies whose sites are all located within a given time zone.

Default Language: Applies to employees. |
- All existing employees whose language is not specified will inherit the default language.
- Employees whose language is specified will not be modified.
- This field is mandatory and must be specified when an employee is manually created.
- The language for employees created via data integration is the default language.

- We recommend you use this parameter for companies whose users all speak a given language.
- When selecting a default language, its name appears in English regardless of the language of the logged-in user.

Default Date Format: Applies to locations. |
- All existing locations whose date format is not specified will inherit the default date format.
- Locations whose date format is specified will not be modified.
- New manually created locations will inherit the date format associated with a higher level if it is specified. If not, then they will inherit the default date format.
- The date format of locations created via data integration is managed in the same way as those created manually.

- The dd/mm/yy format is used throughout the world except in the US where the date format is mm/dd/yy.
- We recommend you use this parameter for companies that do not have any sites in the US.
