This template belongs to the Micro Apps category in Service Apps templates. It is dedicated to the management of meeting rooms.

  • It provides useful information via a manual search or when users scan the QR code assigned to a given meeting room, e.g. number of seats, available equipment, etc.
  • It also enables you to report an incident related to the meeting room.
     

It is shipped in Desktop, Tablet and Mobile versions.

It is also multilingual. The six main languages managed by Service Manager are supported in the standard version.

How to create an app using this template

Step 1: Creating the app in Service Apps

1. Click Apps - Gallery - Create Shortcut icon.png Create App in the App Gallery toolbar.
The template library will appear.

2. Select the template you want.

  • A new app will automatically be created using the template.
  • It will appear in the Design pane.

Step 2: Import reports to Service Manager

1. Download the files below to your workstation.

   From version 2023.1 - Build 2022.1.133.0.01, parent queries are exported with reports. They are specific to Service Apps apps and contain the prefix, APPS_. As such, any modifications made to standard parent queries will not be overwritten when you import reports.

2. Import the downloaded files to Service Manager by selecting Administration > Import / Export > Import in the menu.

Step 3: Finalizing the creation of the new app

1. Click Apps - Application properties icon.png to display the general properties of the app.

  • You can rename the app.
  • You can select the image associated with the app from the App Gallery in the Apps Icon tab.
  • You can select the icon to be displayed in the tab bar of the Web browser or as a shortcut on the Desktop in the Favicon tab.
  • You can modify the default theme.

2. Click Apps - Translation icon.png to make the required translations in the Objects pane. Open url.png See the multilingual management of the apps.

3. Distribute the new app to users.

  • Assign access rights to the relevant users or teams.
  • Create the shortcut pointing to your app.
  • Click EVApps - GUI - Share icon.png to send the shortcut to users.

How to implement the questionnaire for reporting an incident

Step 1: Associate the questionnaire with an entry in the Incident Catalog

1. Download the file below to your workstation.

2. Import the questionnaire to Service Manager by selecting Administration > Import / Export > Import in the menu.

3. Associate the questionnaire with a workflow.

  • Open the workflow you want.
  • Double-click the Start step in the process graphic editor.
  • Select the imported questionnaire.

4. Associate the workflow with an entry in the Incident Catalog.

  • Select References > Catalogs > Incident Catalog in the menu.
    *Create a new entry in the catalog.
  • Select the workflow associated with the questionnaire.
  • Click Save to save the changes made.

Step 2: Configure the button for reporting an incident in Service Apps

1. Go to the Service Apps App Gallery.

2. Click Apps - Application properties icon.png in the app toolbar to open the Meeting Room template in edit mode.

3. Configure the button for reporting an incident.

  • Select the _Detail > Incident (E) page from the Apps - Drop-down list Pages.png drop-down list.
    • Select the Button widget containing the button for reporting an incident.
    • Click Apps - Edit Html icon.png in the HTML Code property to open the text editor.
      The text editor will appear.

    • Click the #[TRANSLATION.report_a_problem]# instruction in the button for reporting an incident and click Button editor icon.png.

      The Button Editor window will display the properties for the button for reporting an incident.

    • In the Service field, select the entry you created earlier in the Incident Catalog.
    • Click OK to save the changes made.
    • Click OK to close the text editor.

The button for reporting an incident will be available in the Meeting Room app.

How to set up the QR code functionality

You set up this functionality by using exposed properties to pass the Location parameter in the app URL in order to provide direct access to the details of a given meeting room.

   You must perform the configuration for each meeting room.

Step 1: Configure the exposed properties for the meeting room

1. Go to the Service Apps App Gallery.

2. Click Apps - Application properties icon.png in the app toolbar to open the Meeting Room template in edit mode.

3. Click Apps - Application properties icon.png or EVApps - GUI - Share icon.png to open the Exposed properties dialog box and click Exposed properties.

4. Select the Search Value exposed property of the Meeting Room widget so that you can search for a specific value among the records.

5. Specify the meeting room whose information will be retrieved using a QR code.

  • Double-click the Content/Value cell of the widget.
  • Enter the name of the meeting room.

Step 2: Generate the QR code for the meeting room

1. Click Generate URL to generate the direct link to the meeting room.

2. Copy and paste the generated URL in a QR code generator.

  • The generated QR code is now available for the meeting room.
  • Users can scan it using the camera function on their tablet or smartphone to view detailed information on the meeting room directly in the app.

Step 3: Generate the QR code for the other meeting rooms

1. Repeat the procedure in steps 1 and 2 for the other meeting rooms whose information will be retrieved using a QR code.
