EV Observe - Synthetic Monitoring Module - The Perlogs Tool

Last modified on 2023/09/28 16:52

The Perlogs tool is part of the load testing features.

The Perlogs tool is the real-time integrated graph tool of the Synthetic Monitoring module. It displays graphs based on real-time statistical counters generated during load tests.

Caution

  • The Perlogs tool allows you to view only the load testing counters of the Synthetic Monitoring module. You can use Microsoft Performance Monitor to view more statistical counters.

Description of the real-time statistical counters

  • NbSessions: Number of active sessions where a scenario is running.
  • AverageDelay: Average derivative of the response time of a scenario compared to its reference time, in percent (%).
  • MaxDelay: Maximum derivative of the response time of a scenario compared to its reference time, in percent (%).
  • StandardDev: Indicates wheter the derivative of the response time applies to all of the sessions (StandarDev close to 0) or only on certain sessions (StandarDev > 0).

Description of the graphs

Graph for a given period

  • Pink curve for Active Sessions: Number of active sessions where the selected scenario is running.
  • Blue curve for Average Delay: Average derivative of the response time of a scenario compared to its reference time, in percent (%).
  • Red curve for Maximum Delay: Maximum derivative of the response time of a scenario compared to its reference time, in percent (%).
  • Green curve for Standard Deviation: Indicates wheter the derivative of the response time applies to all of the sessions (StandarDev close to 0) or only on certain sessions (StandarDev > 0).

Success/failure graphs for all scenarios

This graph allows you to view if the number of failed scripts is increasing over time, highlighting the inadequacy of the target infrastructure.

Graphs for Citrix environment

One of the graphs allows you to view the distribution of the different sessions between the Citrix servers.

You can also compare response times between each Citrix server to ensure application consistency through the environment.
