EV Observe - Value Widget
This type of widget is used to display the last known metric value of a configuration item (CI).
- The value is displayed in color, i.e. green, orange or red, so that users can detect changes in the CI (host / service) status easily.
- You can display a gauge so that users can see the service's warning and critical thresholds quickly.
- You can toggle from a view displaying the metric value to another displaying the gauge.
- You can display the details of the metric in a chart.

Notes
- The data is displayed as raw data.
- You cannot modify the minimum and maximum values that will delimit the gauge as well as the warning and critical thresholds if they were defined in the configuration of the CI.
Best Practice
- Add a title to the widget header to indicate the metric displayed.

List of properties
Hosts/Services: List of hosts/services based on the filters applied to the company, tags and categories.
Metric: List of metrics defined for the selected CI.

- Host 172.238.100.4, Network traffic service: Metrics available are Incoming traffic, Outgoing traffic, Number of packets in error
Statistics: Types of statistics available for the selected metric.

Minimum value / Maximum value: Values used to delimit the gauge.
- You cannot modify values if they were defined in the configuration of the CI.
Warning threshold / Critical threshold: Values used to display the metric in orange or red when the threshold is reached.
- You cannot modify thresholds if they were defined in the configuration of the CI.

Note: You can toggle between the two views by clicking the Minimize or Maximize option.
Details
The details of the metric appear in a popup window in a chart displaying the current metric value and warning and critical thresholds.
Note: The data displayed is from the Details form of the CI (host/service).
Functionalities
- Display values when the cursor hovers over the chart.
- Modify the metric to be displayed. All metrics defined for the CI will appear.
- Modify the type of statistics to be displayed, e.g. average, raw data, etc.
- Modify the analysis period using the calendar.
- Export data in CSV, XLSX or JSON format and/or export the chart in JPG, PNG or PDF format by clicking
Minimize
This view only displays the metric value.
- The metric value displayed will change color when the warning and critical thresholds are reached.
Maximize
This view displays a gauge delimited by the minimum and maximum values specified. The metric value appears in the gauge.
- The gauge displays warning and critical thresholds in orange and red bands respectively.
- The gauge and the metric value displayed will change color when the warning and critical thresholds are reached.
Procedure: How to configure the widget
Step 1: Add the widget to the Dataviz
1. Click and drag the Value widget to the workspace in the graphic editor.
2. Select the metric you want to display in the Dataviz.
The list of metrics available for the selected CI will appear.
- Select the relevant metric you want.
The values that will delimit the gauge as well as the warning and critical thresholds defined in the configuration of the CI will appear.
- Select the type of statistics you want.
Step 2: Configure the widget
1. Specify the minimum and maximum values for the metric that will delimit the gauge.

2. Specify the warning and critical thresholds for the metric.
3. Click Apply.
The selected metric will be displayed in the Dataviz.
