EV Observe - Graph Widget
This type of widget is used to display a chart showing changes in metric values for configuration items (CIs) over a period of time.
- You can display several CIs (hosts/services) in the chart in order to monitor and compare changes in a given metric over time, i.e. single-metric mode.
- You can display several metrics of a single CI in the chart to correlate and monitor all events that may cause issues for the host/service, i.e. multi-metric mode.
Examples
Uses
- Monitor application bandwidth usage over time using NetFlow
- Monitor the time required for accessing an application website
- Monitor cluster infrastructure by tracking simultaneous variations of a given metric in different load balancing hosts
Display of the global bandwidth NetFlow: single-metric chart for the Bandwidth NetFlow CI and the Traffic (Mbps) metric
Display of the application Bandwidth NetFlow: multi-metric chart displaying metrics by application
Notes
- The maximum number of metrics that can be displayed in a given chart is ten.
- Warning and critical thresholds are displayed only in single-metric charts.
- The metric value will appear when the cursor hovers over the chart.
- Charts are synchronized so that you can compare values at a given time easily.
Best Practice
- Add a title to the widget header to indicate the metric displayed.
