EV Observe - Widget - Diagram icon.png This type of widget is used to display the deployment of configuration items (CI) in the IT infrastructure using flows and diagrams.

  • Each CI (host, service or user service) is associated with a customizable icon whose color indicates its current operating state.
  • You create the deployment flows and diagrams of the report in a graphic editor. Open url.png See the description

  • Reduce the intervention time for complex architectures when the expert in charge is absent

Notes

  • This widget is implemented in a report using the Diagram template. You define the scope of the report in the Configuration > Reporting menu. You create the CI deployment flows and diagrams of the report in the graphic editor.

Caution

  • We recommend that you use the Diagram widget with the following Web browsers: Chrome, Firefox or Edge based on Chromium. This is because Internet Explorer and Edge Legacy display limitations when several widgets are added to a Dataviz.

  • Click Edit icon.png to define the scope of the report.
    Note: The scope displayed is the one defined in the Configuration > Reporting menu.

  • Full screen icon.png Full screen: Used to display the widget in full screen mode, e.g. on a flat-screen TV.
    • Click Full screen icon.png Quit full screen at the top right or press the <Esc> key on your keyboard to return to the normal display.
       
  • Maximize view: This view displays the relationships between CIs in a diagram.

Functionalities

  • You can click the status of a CI to display its details in a popup window.
    Note: The data displayed is from the Details form of the CI (host, service or user service).

Procedure: How to configure the widget

Step 1: Configure a report with a diagram illustrating the deployment of CIs in the IT infrastructure

1. Select Configuration > Reporting in the menu.

2. Create or modify a Widget report using the Diagram template.

Note: You should specify the general information and click Apply only if you are creating a new report.

The graphic editor will automatically appear.

3. Use the graphic editor to create flows and diagrams illustrating the deployment of CIs.Open url.png See the description

4. Click Save disk icon.png in the graphic editor title bar to save your modifications.

5. Repeat the procedure for each CI deployment diagram to be displayed in the Dataviz.
 

Step 2: Add the widget to the Dataviz

1. Click and drag the Diagram widget to the workspace in the graphic editor.

2. Select the report you want to display in the Dataviz.

  • If the Dataviz is in public mode, only reports whose visibility is public will be displayed.
  • If the Dataviz is in private mode, reports whose visibility is both public and private will be displayed.

  • Use Company icon.png and Children company icon.png to filter reports for the current company or child companies.
  • Use the search field at the top of the table to filter reports by name.

3. Click Apply.

The CI deployment diagram of the selected report will appear.
 

Step 3: Customize the widget

1. You can modify the widget title and add an image to the header.

2. You can resize and move the widget.

3. You can click Tools icon.png in the widget title bar and select Edit from the contextual menu.
