EV Observe - Use Exchange 2013 Service Templates

Last modified on 2023/06/23 16:42

Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 is Microsoft's email, calendaring, contact, scheduling and collaboration platform. Its architecture is made up of two basic building blocks:

  • A Database Availability Group (DAG) that groups up to 16 Mailbox servers.
  • A set of Client Access Servers (CAS) for managing all client connection requests to Exchange 2013.

You can use the Box to collect information on Exchange 2013 hosts using dedicated service templates.

Notes

  • You should apply the relevant service template based on the architecture deployed.

Monitoring of different components

General monitoring

Set up monitoring for all physical and virtual servers by applying the service templates below based on your configuration. The service templates are used to determine if the host is UP or DOWN. They are also used to analyze CPU, RAM and SWAP usage, as well as disk I/O.

  • System-Windows 2003
  • System-Windows 2008
  • System-Windows 2012
  • System-Windows 2016
  • System-Windows 2019

Monitoring of Client Access Servers (CAS)

Connection to a virtual IP or VIP

Apply the following service templates.

Examples

IT Weather

  • Once monitoring is set up for the hosts and services, you can create your IT Weather. In the event of an alert, you can access the cause of your degraded email service directly.
