Integration Examples

Definition of unique keys

  • The unique key in the integration model Employees is created on the field Email Address: each employee having a different mail address, the search will return a unique record.
  • The unique key in the integration model Inventory Related Equipment is defined using two fields of the connector: Serial Number Equipment and Serial Number Related Equipment. The equipment can be related to several other equipment, the search on the single key Serial Number Equipment may return several records.

Transcription

Two integration models use the same connector Equipment including the field Brand:

  • Integration model Equipment: Uses the field to identify the manufacturer of each equipment.
  • Integration model Employees: Uses the field to identify the manufacturer of each equipment assigned to each employee.

1. Definition of two transcription rules:

  • Transcription defined via the model Equipment: value Hewlett Packard --> new value HP
  • Transcription defined via the model Employees: value Hewlett --> new value HP

2. Application of the rules during the integration: Although they were defined via different models, the two rules apply whoever launches integration because they use the same connector Equipment:

  • Via an integration from the model Equipment, creation of a new equipment with brand Hewlett --> The value is replaced automatically by HP.
  • Via an integration from the model Employees, assignment of a new equipment to an employee where the brand is Hewlett Packard --> The value is replaced automatically by HP.
  • Via integration from the model Employees, updating equipment assigned to an employee where the brand is Hewlett --> The value is replaced automatically by HP.
